Fourteen birders braved the morning chill to look for waterbirds this
morning at Burke Lake. Temperature at 9:00am was about 23 degrees F. By
mid-morning the viewing conditions were excellent and we had good views of a
number of duck species and other waterfowl. The mostly bare woods were
relatively quiet but a number of wintering species popped up to keep us
diverted as we walked along the edge of the lake. A complete list follows:
