A total of 19 people turned on a beautiful sunny day for the Northern Va. Bird
Club's trip to Prince William Forest Park, led by Paula Sullivan and myself.
Although the long-awaited Spring weather has finally arrived, the bulk of the
spring migrants apparent have not yet done so -- we tallied a total of 41
species. Nonetheless, everybody was rewarded with great views of numerous
Blue-headed Vireos (including one brunching on an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail),
Pine, Palm, and Yellow-rumped Warblers (the latter species now in alternate
(breeding) plumage). A pair of adult Bald Eagles passing overhead was an
additional treat. The complete list appears below.
