Brian Sullivan telephoned a minute ago to report an imm. Mourning Warbler on
the east side of the 4th (northernmost) island of the CBBT. I don't know of
any confirmed (photo) records of this species from the CBBT.
At Wheat Lane (near Sting-Ray's) today, 3 American Golden-Plovers, a
Buff-breasted Sandpiper, about 700 Lesser Yellowlegs (many juvs.), 80
Black-bellied
Plovers, a Stilt Sandpiper with a limp, about 35 Pectoral Sandpipers, 15
Killdeer, 50 Semipalmated Plovers, 1 Ruddy Turnstone, and ca. 30 Least
Sandpipers
were present during the on-and-off heavy rains and wind, the remnants of
Hurricane Henri. Most fields are again flooded and full of Black-bellied
Plovers (140
between Yaros Farms and Kiptopeke) and Laughing Gulls.
Landbird flights have been minimal with the easterly winds here. On
Wednesday, Sunset Beach had 8 gnatcatchers, 5 Baltimore Orioles, one Great
Crested
Flycatcher, 2 hummingbirds, one Wilson's and one Hooded Warbler, 5 Common
Yellowthroats, 4 Blue Grosbeaks, one Northern Waterthrush, 15 Am. Redstarts,
one
Indigo Bunting, 5 Black-throated Blue Warblers, and a quick Yellow-breasted
Chat.
