Not to be outdone by Ben Jesup and nearby White Oaks Park... a MOURNING WARBLER
sang off and on for about 20 minutes this morning at the start of the boardwalk
at Huntley Meadows park. One member of the walk was able to get a brief look
at it, but the rest of us had to be satisfied with listening to its insistent
"chree-chree-chree-cho" song. What a wonderful bird, too bad it was so shy.
On my walk back to may car (by myself) I was delighted to find a singing CANADA
WARBLER just over the path. In close proximity was a singing GRAY-CHEEKED
THRUSH. Nice combo!
