Hello, birders.

I birded Teddy Roosevelt Isl. in DC and then
Monticello Park in Alexandria on Saturday.  Despite
the thunderstorms, both parks provided lots of
species, esp. thrushes and warblers.  Since TR Isl. is
on the Va. line and the parking area is in Va., I'm
including it here on the listserv.  Species included:

-Black-crowned night Heron - 1, on a rock near island
(TR)
-Veery
-Gray-cheeked/Bicknell's - 1 calling repeatedly, great
looks.  I've never heard one sing in migration,
though. (MP)
-Swainson's Thrush
-Wood Thrush
-No. Parula
-Yellow (TR)
-Ch.sided (MP)
-B.t. Blue
-Yel.-rumped
-B.t. Green
-Blackburnian
-Blackpoll - Continuing the wave that seemed to come
through No. Virginia on Friday.
-B&W (MP)
-Am. Redstart
-Prothonotory - 2 (TR)
-Ovenbird
-No. Waterthrush
-Com. Yellowthroat
-Canada Warbler - 1 (MP)
