Fellow Birders,
On 5-28-04 Rexanne Bruno, Judy Wiegand and
I went in search of Mississippi Kites southeast of
Emporia and we were not dissappointed. We
saw 6 or possibly more at the Meherrin River bridge on Rt.730. They were
awesome. We also
saw Summer Tanager there. We saw a Miss.
Kite on Rt. 624( Steal River Bridge) in the field just beyond the bridge. We
had a bonus bird fly
over. A female Anhinga. You could see the light
tail band and the light tan head. We also got
Prothonotary Warbler at the bridge. We also
saw many Great Egrets flying.

P.S. Rexanne wanted to thank everyone who
responded to her e-mail about directions.
