A quick check of the town sites in Cape Charles this morning revealed a large
migration of passerines through the peninsula - there were many Gray
Catbirds, Eastern Towhees, both kinglets, White-throated Sparrows, and
Yellow-rumped
Warblers around that weren't present in the past two mornings (when strong
westerlies were blowing, up to 30 knots). Tom Saunders and I had a late
Eastern
Wood-Pewee near the highway on the Stone Road yesterday. Wish I had time to
check the CBBT for sparrows today!
