Birders,
A nice BROWN THRASHER has been seen twice at the Mason Neck State Park
Visitor Center in the last few days. Yesterday afternoon around 5:40 it was
skulking around the front patio, close to where it had been seen on Sunday.
On Saturday, also, I had a SPOTTED SANDPIPER (FOS) along the beach.
Don't forget this Saturday marks the resumption of weekly bird walks at
MNSP. We meet at the Visitor Center for a 9am start, meander along the Bay
View Trail, and conclude in the picnic area around 11am. No reservations
are required, and all are welcome. The trail is easy, the hardest spots (if
they can be called hard) being a couple small stairways. Any questions may
be addressed to me at the address below.
Good birding,
Jodi Bucknam
