Birders,
Yesterday's bird walk was chilly but rewarding. Three of us spotted the
first-of-season YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER and first-of-season WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW, as well as other birds of interest like a VEERY and more
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS than we could stand, just about. Species list
follows.
**Important scheduling note: There will be NO BIRD WALK OCTOBER 21, due to
the Old-fashioned Harvest Festival in the park that day. The guided bird
walks will resume the following week, October 28. We meet at the Visitor
Center for a 9am start, take the Bay View Trail through a tidal freshwater
marsh and deciduous forest, and conclude in the picnic area at 11am. All
are welcome to join us, and reservations are not required. Please address
any questions to me at the address listed below.
