Hello, birders.
I spent about an hour and a half this morning helping
to look for Bald Eagle nests in a small part of Mason
Neck, closed to the public. We saw one eagle on nest.
2 other eagles were spotted. Best bird was a
RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, which I heard call but I didn't
see. Songbirds and other woodpeckers were active
today. A Pine Warbler sang from its namesake tree.
Sparrows, incl. Fox, were actively feeding. An Osprey
and 7 D.c. Cormorants flew overhead.
