All,
I spent about two hours at the battlefield this morning before the rain
convinced me I should head to work. Along the Stone Bridge Trail, many
BG Gnatcatchers, at least one very vocal LA Waterthrush (it might have
been two but I couldn't discern whether the same bird was moving up and
down the stream), 5 Blue-headed Vireos, a few singing Pine Warblers, one
Hermit Thrush, one singing N. Parula, two Belted Kingfishers, 1 very
loud E. Phoebe, a pair of Purple Finches.
At New York Monuments, two singing Ovenbirds and not much else.
At Deep Cut, two more singing Ovenbirds, 5 Red-breasted Nuthatches, many
Pine Warblers, and then the rain drove me back to my car.
