[va-bird] Mallard-goose team

For two years in a row a mallard has nested in a school courtyard in 
Virginia Beach.  A Canada goose stands guard while she incubates the 
eggs and then takes over to protect the young when they hatch.  Could 
the ducklings possibly be hybrids?
