Birders,
Rosemarie and I birded Staunton River Trail (Shen. Nat'l Park)
yesterday morning. The cool, damp morning was not especially good for
songbirds but we heard 6-8 Kentucky Warblers which was the target
species. Also observer Hooded Warblers, A. Redstarts, Ovenbirds, LA
Waterthrushes, Baltimore Orioles, Wood Thrushes.
Trillium was blooming all along the trail and makes it a worthwhile
walk even when the birds are not cooperative.
Good birding to all,
George Harris
Orange County
