We had a four warbler day today, with a handful of Yellow-rumped Warblers, 2
Pines, 3 Palms, and 3 Louisiana Waterthrushes at Ft. Belvoir (Fairfax County).
Chipping Sparrows added their songs to those of the Pines, making the birding
expedition a little challenging.
At least 3 Forster's Terns were fishing for breakfast while 5 Greater
Yellowlegs tended to their needs along the shoreline.
As I arrived home in Annandale, I was delighted to find a Brown Thrasher
foraging through a pile of still unraked leaves.
Bev, Linda, and Laura continued on to the archery range, so maybe we'll get an
additional report of more good stuff!
