All this intense weather must have blown up some birds from the south. This
morning I had 2 veeries (first of the year for me), 3 hermits (largest count
since 4/17), 1 wood thrush (first in the neighborhood), 5 ovenbirds (honorary
thrushes -- only singles previously this season). Also my first 5 warbler
morning in White Oaks this year, with 9 yellow-rumps, 2 yellowthroats, and
single BTB and BTGs. Add my first red-eyed vireo in the neighborhood and 2
female purple finches at the feeder, and you have a nice morning adds up to a
nice morning.
