The seven participants on the NVBC's field trip to Sky Meadows State Park in
Fauquier County were rewarded with great views of a Loggerhead Shrike teed up
on top of a bush near the stables. In addition, seven Red-headed Woodpeckers
were flying in and out of an oak tree on the main entrance road, where they
apparently were gathering acorns. Otherwise, however, passerines seemed rather
sparse, possibly because of the winds. Complete list follows
