Gentle Readers,
Mary Floyd, and Ann-Marie Mapes led a group of twelve birders at Huntley
Meadows Park yesterday, 08/30/04, morning at 0700. The hot, sunny day yielded
few surprises -- it was a typical late summer day at the Park. Notable was the
total absence of Red-winged Blackbirds; these birds are presumably enjoying a
repast of wild rice along the banks of Virginia's streams.
