To add to the species already mentioned, there were 2 GRAY CATBIRDS, a BROWN
THRASHER and a RUSTY BLACKBIRD down Easy Rd. A few PURPLE FINCHES flew over
the refuge, too. I wish I had more time to spend there.

The LECONTE'S SPARROW was seen by several birders at the Occoquan NWR at
8:30 AM today (11/4/2005) near the intersection of Bay View and Locust.
Efforts to find the bird from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM were unsuccessful.
Other sparrows found during that time period on the refuge:
Song
Savannah
Swamp
Field
White-throated
White-crowned (immature)
Vesper
VA is very lucky this refuge was saved from suburban development.
