This morning (9/5/03) there was a Lark Sparrow at Craney Island in Portsm=
outh, Va. I was up on the south dike, just west of the area where various=
trucks are are parked, scanning the grassy area next to the landfill for=
Upland Sandpipers (unsuccessfully) when the sparrow flushed about 10 yar=
ds from me. It flew into a tree at the base of the dike and posed for a =
while, then hid in the brush.
