Birders,

This morning at Lake Orange, Rosemarie and I saw the following:

1 - imm. Bald Eagle, feathers soaked.
4 - Common Mergansers (3m,1f)
9 - Hooded Mergansers
1 - Greater Scaup  (m)
1 - Pied-billed Grebe
1 - Killdeer
2 - Black-backed Gulls
200-Ring-billed Gulls

Interesting that even in the downpour, birds are feeding in a frenzy.
In the yard this morning:

1 Purple Finch, 1 Rusty Blackbird, 14 Cardinals, 1 Hermit Thrush,
Robins, Chickadees, Titmice, Juncos, White-throats, Song, Downy's,
Pileated, Red-bellied, SapSucker; 100 birds + -.

Bridge already overflowing, if the heavy rain continues, problems ahead!

Happy birding, keep dry,

George Harris
Orange County
