Along with Sue Heath & Bev Leeuwenburg, we found 2 LOGGERHEAD SHRIKES within 5
minutes this afternoon, SW of Edinburg. To be specific, BJ spotted both of
them. We tried to turn them into Northern Shrikes, but we were on the wrong
side of the road. :-)
For anyone interested in chasing them, hopefully, they'll stick around in the
same area: The first was on Headquarters Rd, 1/4 mile N of South Middle Rd.( W
of the road). The second was on Belgravia Rd, 1/4 mile S of South Middle Rd. -
in a corn stubble field, Teed up on a stalk.
Also in the same general area were decent numbers of Horned Larks.
Raptors for the day - all in the Valley:
Red-tailed Hawk - 12
Kestrel - 14 (often paired up)
