All,
Saw many of the species reported earlier by John Irving at a Pond near Lynwood VA in Rockingham county. See John's email for excellent directions or email me. The Glossy Ibis was seen immediately and the Sora didn't make an entrance until an hour had passed. Although I did hear the Sora 2 or 3x before seeing the bird. The Sora gave great looks and seemed brighter than I recall previous Soras I have seen.... ... I had a great time watching the Sora scamper through the corn whenever alarmed usually because a car would slow down and the driver and passenger would point to the Ibis and keep on going. I didn't see the Sora freeze to avoid detection rather it just took off for the nearest vegetation and disappeared. It really covered a lot of ground quickly! I did not re-locate the Egret. I don't know if it was visiting other local ponds or the nearby River or just hidden in the vegetation. See list below.
