Howdy all,
Well, what can I say. Today was a bit less than productive. Or maybe I am
just greedy. It was really dead today and so we only caught 26 birds. Nothing
surprising except maybe for how dead it was. We caught another GRAY-CHEEKED
THRUSH which are always cool. We had 16 species however, so we have a lot of
one's
on the list below.
As a side note, I will not be at the banding station tomorrow, opting to go
out on the Brian Patteson pelagic out of Va Beach tomorrow. My master bander,
Bob Reilly, will be filling in for me so there will at least be somebody there
doing my job!
Here is the list for the day 9/22:
American Redstart 1
Black-throated Blue Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 3
Northern Waterthrush 1
Eastern Wood-Pewee 1
Traill's Flycatcher 1
Red-eyed Vireo 2
House Wren 2
Carolina Wren 1
Swainson's Thrush 1
Gray-cheeked Thrush 1
Gray Catbird 5
Northern Mockingbird 3
Brown Thrasher 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 first of the season
TOTAL ------------------------------------- 26
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Now get out there and find some migrants!
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
