Howdy all,
Well, today didn't quite go as we had hoped. A day after a front is supposed
to be good! But today it was not meant to be. We only banded a total of 41
birds. Only 200 shorted than I was hoping for. I guess there is always
tomorrow.
The most unusual bird of the day was our first BLACKPOLL WARBLER of the
season. Today was once again dominated by WESTERN PALM WARBLERS.
Here's the totals for the day:
A. Redstart 5
Magnolia 2
N. Parula 1
W. Palm 12
C. Yellowthroat 3
Black-throated Blue 4
Blackpoll 1
N. Waterthrush 4
Ovenbird 1
White-eyed Vireo 1
Red-eyed Vireo 1
House Wren 1
Carolina Wren 1
Traill's Flycatcher 1
Carolina Chickadee 1
N. Cardinal 1
Brown Thrasher 1
TOTAL ------------------- 41
Sure hope tomorrow holds a lot more birds! I would hate to think we missed
all those birds!
Sorry for all the short brief messages from the last few days. Just having
computer problems I guess.
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
