Howdy all,
Today was a less than eventful day at the station. Which is kind of sad. There
was quite a few birds around this morning but for some unknown reason, they
didn't want bracelets today. Must have been a sooty bunch of birds. Maybe
tomorrow.
It was not that bad of a day however. We banded 14 today bring our season total
to 700 exactly.
It was also just a nice day to be out.
Totals today:
Redstart 2
Yellowthroat 2
Traill's Flycatcher 2
Black-thr. Blue 1
Chipping Sparrow 1
Indigo Bunting 1
Carolina Wren 2
Veery 1
Cardinal 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
It looks like the next few days will be good for birders here on the shore. I
just hope we can say the same about banding. As of right now, Monday might be a
good day here.
On to other news, under the oops-a-daisy file, Gwyn McVay noticed a typo in my
info post yesterday. We are open seven days a week to the PUBLIC! Not seven
days to the PUBIC! Last I had checked, Kiptopeke was not a nudist park! I want
to thank Gwyn for informing me I have a flashing problem! I will be taking
medication for my problem in hopes of not scaring away future visitors! Ha ha
Cheers,
Jethro Runco (fully clothed)
