Howdy all,
Due to the early morning rains yesterday and the threatening skies thought
the rest of the morning, the banding station did not band on the 27th. We did
get to band today however and had a nice mix of birds. Although nothing too
exciting in the way of unusual birds, we did catch our first SUMMER TANAGER,
AMERICAN ROBIN, and PINE WARBLER of the season. We also had a very very fat
VEERY
that was a full ten grams heavier than our average weigh of the season for
them! Which, by the way, was 32 grams.
Here is the breakdown of the birds today the 28th:

It was a nice day again out in the park. It did warm up a little, causing the
last few hours of the day to be quite slow. The morning was beautiful,
however!
