[va-bird] Kiptopeke banding

Howdy all,

Well, the weather recently has not been real great for trying to do a little
banding, but there are lots of birds in the area! It is a little frustrating!
Just hoping the mornings will be dry so we can get some banding in.
Before the rains set in, it was hot, humid, and very few birds. So we banded
only low numbers each day. Now, the weather has brought birds in, but we can't
get out to band! So the total number of birds banded this season is lower than
in years past at this time.
We have had some nice species caught this year. The Seaside Sparrow that was
banded on 22 August might be the best bird of the fall! It was only the fifth
one ever banded in the stations 39+ years of banding!

Hope for dry mornings!
