Howdy all,
Once again, we turned out another slow day at the banding station. We managed
to catch double digits but 11 birds is not quite what we had in mind. I guess
there is always tomorrow.
The day started off very windy but calmed to almost 0 mph by the time we closed
(around 2pm). It was eerie clam in the trees late in the morning. No wind, no
birds, no noise what so ever. I am hoping it is the calm before the storm. On
the bright side, all that we caught were all migrants and all quite fat.
Totals today:
A. Redstart         2
Black-thr. Blue    1
Ovenbird             2
House Wren       3
Gray Catbird       3

Hope there is a good wave of birds in the near future!

Cheers,
Jethro
