Kim Peacock and I heard a King Rail at Metz wetlands this morning, in
Woodbridge. It was close to Neabsco Rd. just past the eastern border of the
wetlands. This is about the same spot where the king rail often heard last
spring. Other birds of interest in the wetlands were 5 rusty blackbirds,
Forster's tern, singing ruby-crowned kinglets, lots of singing brown thrashers,
several flocks of yellow-rumped warblers, red-shouldered hawk, and greater
yellowlegs.
