Kenn Kaufman, naturalist, ornithologist, and author of The Focus Guide to
Butterflies of North America, presents A Birder Looks at Butterflies.
Kaufman gives a birderâ??s perspective on these jewel-like insects that
brighten gardens through the summer. Birdwatchers are siting more than
birds in their binoculars--they're zooming in on butterflies as well. But
butterflies are more than â??the new six-legged birds.â?? They're radically
different in terms of their field identification, taxonomy, behavior,
migration, and a host of other characteristics. In fact, butterflies open
an entirely new window on wildlife.
