Gerry:
Thanks for that great report. Did you notice what the waxwings were
feeding on at this point? There are no new berries available yet and I
was curious as to what they are finding from last year's crop.

birded this am from 7-10:15. Reasonably active after the sun came
through the
early am overcast. Not a lot of warbler species, only 7 ( Yellow-rump,
Yellow-throated, Yellow, Parula, Black & White, and new for me for the
year: singing
male Black-throated Blue and Black-throated Green ), but quite a few
Baltimore Orioles, Scarlet Tanagers, and 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.
Also of note:
Cedar Wxwings everywhere in a feeding frenzy, and what feels like a
very late
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker; and we never heard a single Ovenbird or
Protonotary
Warbler. Total of 52 species heard and/or seen. Oops, forgot: 2 Veeries
chasing
each other, also a FOY for me.
