Hi VAbirders,
My truck was in the truck cap shop today due to leaky windows, so while
waiting for the bad news of what a repair would involve I decided to bird a
bit. Jackson Abbott Wetlands on Route 1 was pretty quiet. Best birds were
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Green Heron, Eastern Kingbird, and E. Phoebe.
Belle Haven/Dyke Marsh was birdier, especially when a mini-wave of birds
came in just as I had to leave. Argh, isn't that always the way? Best
birds at Belle Haven/Dyke Marsh were Pectoral Sandpiper, Blackburnian
(first fall female), Indigo Bunting, Yellow Warbler, Blue-gray Gnat, and a
group of 5 Orchard Orioles.
Getting hot and muggy out there again, eh?
