I had a picnic dinner in the tower with my family tonight to see if I could
get my daughter two species of grasspiper in three days (she saw a
buff-breasted with me and Jason Waanders at Bombay Hook on Saturday), but no
luck. There were a few other shorebirds around:
Killdeer 2
Snipe 3
Lesser legs 3
Solitary 4
Spotted 3
Least 2
Also about 150 chimney swifts.
Things have been pretty quiet at White Oaks Park over the last week.
Warblers have been limited to a couple of Canadas and redstart, a magnolia,
and a yellowthroat.
Looks like this weekend could be good though, as the weather is finally
going to break Wednesday.
