I saw that Little Blue Heron Heron, as well -- it was an adult in full
breeding plumage seen around 0800, but did not stay long (couldn't find
it a liitle later). It was foraging on the far side of the Main Pond
from the raised area in the western loop of the main boardwalk. At the
same time there was a basic-plumaged Sanderling about 80 yards out on
the flats, near a foraging group of 11 Semipalmated Sandpipers. The
Sanderling was preening only (it did not forage) and also soon left. On
May 27 there was an adult male Northern Pintail foraging in what is left
of the Main Pond. The herptiles along the boardwalk when the day warms
up have been great!

While conducting the Huntley Meadows survey this morning, I located an
adult Little Blue Heron in the Central Marsh. There were 4 Chats
vocalizing in the Main Meadow to the right of the Hike-Bike Trail.
