I conducted my survey of the Hike-Bike Trail at Huntley Meadows this morning
and it was fairly slow. One Pine Warbler was singing at the maintenance
building and one Chipping Sparrow was in song at the main meadow. The only new
bird was a House Wren and the best observation was a flock of 32 Rusty
Blackbirds in the main meadow. Tree Swallows are gradually occupying and nest
building in the boxes, but not one bluebird yet. Odd.
