Unsuccessfully searched for the phalarope and
least bittern with my ornithology class. However
we did see 3 bonaparte's gulls, a fishing osprey,
goldfinches galore, and a great blue heron that
had skewered two fish on its beak at the same
time and then swallowed them. We heard an alder
flycatcher near the boardwalk loop and also heard
blackpoll, redstart, and black-and-white warblers
in the woods.
All the best
Fred
