Gentle Readers,
Gene Keefe died last week. Gene led many walks at Huntley Meadows Park over
the last few years and he will be missed. A celebration of a life well lived
will be held at Huntley Meadows Park on Sunday, January 23, at 1100. We will
gather, with his family, to share stories, remembrances, pictures and prose of
Gene. Slainte!
Barbara Perry and Mike Ready led the Monday Morning Birdwalk this morning,
January 17, 2005. The sub-freezing temperature and the strong winds chilled
the ten birders. Never the less, 26 species of birds were observed, including
the Red-headed Woodpecker down Barnyard Run near the new beaver dam.
