A Federal holiday, the promise of water in the central wetlands, previous reporting of Red Phalaropes at Huntley, and near perfect weather brought 14 birders on the birdwalk this morning. While there were no Phalaropes, we did tally 50 species, with some interesting warblers and a yellow-bellied Flycatcher highlighting the list. It takes place every week, rain or shine, at 7 AM, is free of charge, requires no reservation, and is open to all.
