VA Birders,
16 birders participated in today's Northern Virginia Bird Club walk at
Huntley Meadows led by Larry Catwright and me. It was a beautiful day to be
out
on the boardwalk. Highlights were Red-headed Woodpeckers and a nice
assortment of raptors. We also enjoyed an ice skating show put on by a group
of
Mallards near the tower.. Before the main walk Jay Keller and I checked out
the
Hike-Bike side where we saw a Barred Owl and two Hermit Thrushes. Jay also saw
a
Woodcock, Birds seen and heard on the main walk:
