[va-bird] Huntley 3/18/02

A somewhat damp morning at Huntley Meadows today, but for the most part the
rain cooperated and kept it down to a light sprinkle. Considering, it was a
very productive day. The park was very "birdy" - there seemed to be a song
sparrow every 10 feet.

Highlights:

barred owl - 1
wood duck - 4 males (doing their best to impress), 3 males
gadwall - 1 pair
hooded merganser - 2 males, 2 females
snipe - 4 or 5
tree swallow - 4
fox sparrow - 1 (singing his heart out)
towhee - 2
winter wren - 1
eastern phoebe - 1
osprey - 1 (seen as I was exiting the park - flying over Lockheed Blvd)
