VA Birders,
This morning at about 8:20 I heard a Yellow Warbler singing in our blossoming
apple tree. It was a male but he was not singing his complete song at first. A
little later he got into full voice. In past years these birds have returned
here as early as April 1 and as late as April 15. This one just made the late
date.
Our first Ruby-throated Hummingbird arrived on April 9th and surprisingly was a
female. Yesterday (4/14) she was joined by two males.
