Hi All;
I have been reading all the good reports coming in from Hog Island and I have
been wanting to make A Trip for myself. Today I went with several members of
the HRBC and had a great morning of birding. In all we had a total of 61
species for the trip.
We were greeted by two Black Terns and three Adult Bald Eagles flying
around the first pond as we came through the gate. We saw the White Pelican and
Upland Sandpipers and most of the birds that had been reported last week. Some
of the highlights. Bobwhites, Pied-billed Grebes, Common Snipe Bobolink, White
and Brown headed Nuthatches, Red eye Vireo, Baltimore Oriole, Clapper Rail and
6 species of warblers.
On July 9, My wife and I saw a adult male Yellow-Rumped Warbler at Hog
Island and today we had one in juvenal plumage. Early Migrants or ? any
thoughts ?
Good birding!
