[va-bird] Heron Rookery

Clear DayI was passing through the Saltville, VA area this afternoon and my 
route took me past the heron rookery that is located just outside of the town 
on the North Fork of the Holston River.  The rookery consists of about 12 nests 
that are located primarily in one tree along the river.  Today there were 
herons standing on or very near about six of the nests.  I understand from some 
of the local folks that over the years there has been a steady increase in the 
number of nests in the tree.
