Today started as a pretty "slow" day for birds at the feeders, due to the high
winds. However, I had quite a treat this afternoon. When I looked out a window
at my mealworm feeder looking for Bluebirds, which I hadn't seen in a couple of
days, and I noticed a brownish bird. That's too big for a CAWR, I said to
myself, so a ran to get my binoculars. I was just in time to get a very short
look at a Hermit Thrust alit on the fence. Pretty exciting, as it is a life
bird for me! I was also treated to a singing White-throated Sparrow shortly
thereafter. I guess the sparrow was happy about the thrush, too!
