The Arlington Selasphorus was last observed yesterday, coming several times to
the feeders around 11:30 a.m. Birders who came by after midday were unable to
see it.
This morning, I waited for 40 minutes before having to leave for work, without
having seen it; this makes the first time since Sunday that I've not been able
to observe it during the small window of opportunity I have in the a.m. This
doesn't mean it's not there, obviously.
If any birder stops by my house today and does see the Selasphorus, please
confirm the sighting to me by calling (202) 638-3060 x18. Attempts to band the
bird are going to be made tomorrow, and it would be best to have a confirmation
before the bander makes an unproductive trip down from Maryland.
I am grateful for any help you can provide. Please bring a camera, if possible,
as no photos have been taken of the Selasphorus yet.
