Tad Finnell kept the count today. Mid-afternoon the second Golden Eagle of
the season made an appearance. It was an immature that flew directly over the
lookout giving everyone good looks, including 4 AT hikers that had just
emerged from the forest. Many of today's birds were spotted far out over the
valley
to the west and a scope was necessary to seal ID's. Two groups of migrating
DC Cormorants flew over heading southeast. One group with 140 individuals and
the other with 35. Other migrants spotted were 2 RB Nuthatches and 3 Tree
Swallows.
