VA-Birders,
Betty Kilgore and I saw a Harris's Sparrow at Julie Metz Wetlands, Prince
William Co., on Sunday afternoon, March 7, about 4:30 pm. We had a good look
at the bird while it dined on our seed offering in front of the holly tree at
the Monument. It had its head down eating most of the time it was in view,
and I do not recall seeing any black below the throat, so I'm not sure it was
the same bird that Joanna Taylor saw the day before. Nor am I sure that it is
the same bird I saw with Pat Blyer a week ago. However, I am sure it was a
Harris's Sparrow.
