Observation start time: 08:15:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 7.75 hours

Official Counter: Todd M. Day

Observers: Bob Blakney, John Drummond

Visitors:
Good to see John Drummond, and Bob Blakney was welcomed company.

Weather:
Chilly early, temp only six celsius. No clouds early, but good wind. When
the clouds came, the wind died, and the birds went high. Max temp was 13
celsius.

Raptor Observations:
The classic noon Eagle (well, really 11:45) was a juvenile Golden. The
classic four PM eagle was fifteen minutes late and was an adult Golden.
We also had eagles near eleven, one, two, and three...

Goshawk was an immature. One bad look at a Golden, one bad look at an
unidentified eagle.

Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of songbirds moving today, many unidentified and uncounted.

What I did manage to ID and count were (in order of my notes):

ca. 200 Cedar Waxwings
30 Purple Finches
50 American Goldfinches
188 American Robins
25 Blue Jays, most with acorns headed into the woods.
1000 Starlings
3 Tree Swallows
100+ Myrtle Warblers
24 Yellow-shafted Flickers
2 Downy Woodpeckers
1 Hermit Thrush
2 Hairy Woodpeckers
1 Pine Siskin
6 Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers
1 Monarch Butterfly
1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo
7 Common Loons

At ten-fifteen AM EDT, the green army truck coughed to life for the second
day, but still has not turned a wheel.

Predictions:
If the report says either Todd Day or blkvulture@xxxxxxx as the sender,
ignore all predictions or believe the opposite. This so-called veteran
hawkwatcher doesn't have a clue.
