Total observation time: 6.75 hours
Official Counter: Bob Abrams, Todd M. Day
Observers: Bob Abrams, Bob Blakeney, Jesse Fulton, Mario Gamboa
Visitors:
Salsa Man came through, but today I think he might have been listening to
the news. The Mount Weather boys in their armored Humvee.
Weather:
Winds were mostly from the west, at a one on the Beaufort, with some
flirting up to a two. Cloud cover was good (about 50%) until the edge of
the front came, and then it got dense and looked like it might rain.
Raptor Observations:
A few good bursts of Broad-wingeds, enough to tease, torment, and
tantalize, but not enough to satisfy.
Non-raptor Observations:
Three Red-headed Woodpeckers, fifteen Tree Swallows, and not a lot else. A
guy with a guitar hiked up to Bear's Den and returned, something we don't
see much of.
Predictions:
Broad-wingeds are done. Bring on the accipitiers.
