Weather:
The following is taken from October 22, 2002 report from Virginia State
Climatology office. "..atmospheric circulation patterns have changed
markedly and now resemble a winter configuration that is conducive to
below normal temperatures and more frequent precipitation. As a result,
statewide rainfall has been considerably above average (158% of normal)
since October 1, with every region in the state above average."
Happily, Charlottesville and Albemarle County resevoir levels are
improving. As of this morning, before start of the rain, the level was up
to 73%. We had been down to about 51%. Mandatory water restrictions will
not be lifted until level reaches and maintains 85% for 7 consecutive
days.
Current weather at Rockfish Gap today is rain and fog. Temperature at
2:40 p.m.-- no wind, rain, fog and it's 41 degrees. NO COVERAGE TODAY.
